Customer Comments
The quality of the Nelson Homes product continues to meet or exceed our expectations in every way. Nelson Homes is everything it is cracked up to be. It is reassuring to know that good framing lumber still exists - no bowed, cupped, or crowned lumber was evident. No skimping has been evident anywhere on either the products or the materials. All material meets or even exceeds local building codes.
The Nelson Homes price originally quoted is the final price that is charged. The complete price is given up front - there are no hidden or unexpected costs. Credit for any errors, changes or returns are promptly dealt with in a courteous manner.
Customer service has been excellent from the conceptual house plan sketch or floor plan layout to the fruition of the final finished product. Prompt and courteous attention is always given to concerns or questions. We are impressed with the professionalism exhibited and displayed. It is evident that Nelson Homes cares for the quality of its product and satisfaction of the homeowner.
On-site and on-time delivery is a big plus. Most importantly, all units/material are delivered to the job site (no crucial missing parts - translated, unnecessary downtime). Any accessory items are also included.
It is impressive to witness the speed in which a Nelson home is framed. The framers were particularly impressed with the ease of assembly in framing the panelized wall units. It was like putting together a giant build-by-number kit, remarked one framer. All wall units were clearly numbered and precisely matched the floor plan layout. Square panelized wall units made framing a snap. All window/door openings were truly square and plumb. One particular house had impressive custom ceiling trusses with irregular hips and valleys on either end. Yet these trusses all lined up precisely.
An interesting conversation was overheard from the local sub-contractors who were to plumb a Nelson Homes house. On a Friday afternoon they drove by the lot and one plumber commented to the other that they were scheduled to plumb that house the next week - and all that was present was a stem wall and foundation. "Sure!" replied the other plumber in disbelief. By mid-week, they were plumbing that house!
"Unbelievable!" remarked the plumber at the speed of the progress.
